SWING SHIFT 1400 - 2300 Overview: Medical Stepdown is a unit that specializes in the care of acutely ill medical patients. We primarily focus on those suffering from respiratory failure and/or other general medical problems that are acutely ill.

• Patient population may include: Bipaps, High Flow Oxygen, Tracheostomies, and Ventilated Tracheostomies, Respiratory Failure, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Alcohol Withdrawal, Drug Overdose, Severe Sepsis, End of Life Care
• This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills
  • Close relationship with pulmonologist
    • Due to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.
      • 22- patient bed unit
      • RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support
      • 24/7 Leadership support
      • Collaborate daily with Care Management team, PT and OT, dieticians and pharmacists Qualifications:
        • Experience: 2 years' experience in patient care is required.
        • Preferred Experience: Supervisor experience.
        • Required Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
        • Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
        • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
          • Other: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: --- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) --- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)--- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)--- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)--- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)--- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)--- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)--- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)--- S.T.A.B.L.E.
