Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:15 - 18:45) Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: Must have active IL license in hand or be in application process to apply Certifications: Chemo certification required; OCN and ONS/ONCC preferred Must-Have: Required Chemotherapy and IV Therapy/Infusion skills Job Description: - Work in an Oncology unit with an average daily census of 24 in a facility with 24 rooms and beds. - Work every other weekend and float within the scope to meet facility needs as required. - Administer chemotherapy and manage chemotherapy-related skills, including body fluid handling, continuous infusion, IV push administration, disposal of cytotoxic spills, monitoring, oral administration, and recognizing/communicating abnormal lab values. - Perform IV Therapy/Infusion tasks such as accessing ports, administering coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, blood/blood product administration, care and management of ports, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, PICC line care, and starting IVs. - Candidates are required to work two out of three major holidays. - The facility is a Magnet hospital and a Level I trauma center with 562 total staffed beds. - Charting experience with Cerner is required and will need to be completed by the end of the first day annually. - Orientation is 16 hours and non-billable. - Completion of modules up to 16 hours is non-billable, with any additional module hours being billable. - Non-clinical and clinical module hours may vary. Please ensure all compliance needs are completed timely for the full duration of the assignment. Candidates must secure housing independently and complete all background and licensing requirements prior to the offer. Candidates must float when required and adhere to work schedule agreements.
