Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical Surgical - Trauma Job Duration: 13 weeks (option for a 26-week contract is available) Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Yes Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Missouri or Compact State License (pending license accepted) Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: - Experience with Med/Surg, Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical drains, Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Level 1 Trauma Experience - EPIC charting experience Job Description: - Staffing ratios of 1:4-5 for patient care - Work every other weekend - No on-call required - Clinicians may float within scope to meet facility needs - Block scheduling not accommodated - Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Managing patients with diagnoses from Emergency Department, Operating Room, or Intensive Care Units - Providing care for geriatric trauma, trauma victims from abuse/violence, MVA, MVC, falls, and acute care surgery cases such as appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, and TBIs - Utilizing specialized equipment such as lifts, restraints, wound vacs, and traction/external fixators - Adhere to restrictions regarding requested time off (RTO) with no more than 7 days for each 13-week contract - Must adhere to punctuality guidelines with no more than 3 tardies and 2 call-ins per contract This role offers an opportunity to work in a Magnet & Teaching Hospital / Level I Trauma Center. Please note, COVID-19 vaccine is not required, whereas a Flu Vaccine is required, with medical or religious exemptions only. Orientation is provided.
