Status: Full TimeReports To: Executive DirectorPosition Summary:As
the Director of Nursing (DON), reporting directly to the Executive
Director, you ensure the provision of quality nursing care in
accordance with State and Local regulations while leading the
nursing team to provide a top-notch experience to all residents.
This role acts as the Director in the community in the absence of
the Executive Director.Essential Duties:Oversee the delivery of
care to residents to ensure that emotional, physical, psychological
and safety needs are metOversee and be responsible for the delivery
of quality care and services to our residents in compliance with
the regulationsAdminister medications and/or treatments for all
residents, adhering to facility policies and proceduresManage the
caregiver staffHire and train employeesEnsure all Nursing Staff
strictly adheres to all medical and communication logs, policies
and proceduresPerform management and administrative duties in the
absence of the Executive DirectorAct as first responder to resident
emergency response systemOversee and implement infection control,
pharmaceutical, all policies and procedures, and assures that
committee recommendations are carried outFunction as a liaison
between the residents, their families, staff and the publicAssess
potential residents for assisted living, independent living, and
memory care regarding the care level and the appropriate
placementDevelop and implement nursing service objectivesMaintain a
safe work environment through the prevention of accidents, the
preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working
practicesMaintain annual budget with conjunction of the Executive
DirectorMaintain current knowledge of scope of practice for self
and staff members, and recognize legal implications when making
nursing judgments/decisionsPerform other duties as
assignedRequirements:Qualifications:Requires three (3) years of
nursing experience in a senior care community with proven
leadership and organizational skills, licensed Practical nurse or
Registered Nurse requiredDemonstrated compliance with State and
Local regulations as well as professional standards and
practicesPossess a general knowledge of laws and restrictions
regarding Assisted Living, Memory Care and Independent Living
(where applicable), as well as a solid understanding of
opportunities and limits of other levels of care within senior
livingGreat communication and interpersonal skills are required,
along with the heart and passion to work with older adults, and
providing the best care possibleProven experience in staffing,
leading, developing and retaining a strong Resident Care
TeamDemonstrates excellent observation, assessment and nursing
judgmentExhibit and promote a high level of customer service,
hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all residents,
visitors, associates and the overall communityAbility to remain
calm in stressful situations, to be flexible, to work well with
many interruptions and have skill in multi-taskingMust have respect
for the principles of resident rights and
confidentialityProficiency in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook,
Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word applications.Education and/or
Experience:Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)Accredited RN degree,
preferredAccredited LPN degree, requiredApplicable State licensure,
requiredPhysical Demands:To excel in this role, it is crucial for
